What we keep, and why.

What we collect

• Your name, so people and companies you work with know who you are.
• Your personal email address, to confirm your account, send account notices, and reach you if something goes wrong.
• Your mobile number, to send sign-in and confirmation codes by text.
• Files you upload, such as a resume, certificates, IDs, forms and photos, along with the names, folders, dates and notes you give them.
• Sign-in records: the time, the device and browser, and the network address, so you can see where your account is signed in and we can spot misuse.
• Messages you send us through the contact form or by email.

We do not collect your Social Security number unless a file you upload contains it, and we do not use advertising trackers.

Text message codes

When you sign up, sign in, or change your mobile number, we text you a one-time code. These texts are only for your account; we do not send marketing texts. Message and data rates may apply. Codes expire within minutes and are stored only in a form that cannot be read back.

What we never do

• We never sell your information or your files.
• We never share your files with anyone unless you choose to share them.
• We never use your files to advertise to you.

We use a few service providers to run the site: Amazon Web Services stores your files, and separate providers send our email and text messages. They handle your information only to provide those services to us.

Where it is stored

Your account and files are stored with Amazon Web Services in the United States, in the us-west-2 (Oregon) region. Files are encrypted in storage and travel over encrypted connections. Downloads use links that expire within minutes, and files are checked for viruses.

How long we keep it

We keep your account and files for as long as you have an account. Files you move to the trash are deleted for good after 30 days, or sooner if you delete them from the trash yourself. Uploads that never finish are cleaned up within two days. When you ask us to close your account, we delete your information, except for records the law requires us to keep.

Your rights

• See and export. Ask us for a copy of the information and files we hold about you, and we will send it.
• Correct. Change your name, email and mobile on your account page, or ask us.
• Delete. Ask us to delete your account and everything in it.

To ask, email questions@hr.world from the address on your account. We answer within 30 days. California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, and we give them to everyone.

Children

HR World is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect.
