The rules for using HR World.

Who we are

HR World is an HR consulting and HR software company in San Diego, California. In these terms, “HR World,” “we” and “us” mean HR World, and “you” means the person using the site. Consulting work for a business is covered by the written agreement we sign with that business; if that agreement and these terms disagree, the agreement wins.

Your account

• You need to be at least 18 to create an account.
• Use your real name, a personal email address you check, and a mobile number that is yours. We use the mobile number to send sign-in codes.
• Keep your password and sign-in codes to yourself. You are responsible for what happens in your account. If you think someone else has gotten in, change your password, use “Sign out everywhere” on your account page, and tell us.
• One account per person. Your account is yours, not your employer’s, and it stays with you when you change jobs.

Acceptable use

Please do not:

• upload anything you do not have the right to keep or share, or anything illegal;
• upload malware, or try to break into, overload, scrape or test the security of the site without our written permission;
• pretend to be someone else, or use another person’s account;
• use the site to harass anyone or to send spam.

Files are checked for viruses. A file that fails the check is held: it stays in your account but cannot be opened, downloaded or shared. We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and we will tell you why when we can.

Your files stay yours

You own the files you upload and the information you enter. We do not claim any rights to them. You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you: to store your files, make previews and thumbnails, check them for viruses, and deliver them to you and to the people you choose. We do not look through your files except to keep the service safe, when you ask us to help, or when the law requires it.

Sharing is your choice

Files are private to you unless you share them. When you share a file or your profile with a person or a company, they can see what you shared, and they may keep their own copy. You can stop sharing at any time, but we cannot pull back a copy someone has already downloaded. Your profile photo is shown wherever your name appears on HR World.

Deleting files and closing your account

Files you move to the trash stay there for 30 days, then are deleted for good. You can also delete a file from the trash yourself right away. To close your account or get a copy of everything you have stored, email questions@hr.world.

No warranty

We work hard to keep HR World running and your files safe, but the site is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. Information on the site is general and is not legal advice for your situation. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, HR World is not responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data, that come from using the site. If we are responsible for a loss, our total liability is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you paid us for the site in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

California law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in San Diego County, California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it there instead.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site grows. When we make a change that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you by email or on the site before it takes effect. If you keep using HR World after that, the new terms apply.
